Tesis FJ Amoros - SmallFrancisco Amorós defended his PhD Thesis “Application of the Global Appearance of Omnidirectional Visual Information in Colour to Robotic Navigation Tasks in 2½D Space” on February 24th 2014. The thesis, directed by Dr. Oscar Reinoso García, has been realized in the Automation, Robotics and Computer Vision Laboratory (ARVC). In this work, a comparative study of several global appearance descriptor techniques of omnidirectional visual information is presented. Moreover, the thesis develops different algorithms that use those descriptors in robotic navigation tasks, visual map building and height estimation using omnidirectional images.
