Dr. Carlos R. Fernández- Pousa, professor of TECNIT, together with researchers from the Polytechnical University of Valencia, University of Valencia and the Italian National Research Council, has developed a new optoelectronic device that generates quantum light emission and it is compatible with optical fiber communications technology.

The work has been published in the prestigious journal Scientific Reports, and it is presents an alternative for the development of quantum information technologies. Integrated devices have been fabricated in fiber that filter the light emitted by quantum dots (QDs), with an efficiency more than 10 times greater than the typical. This increase in the efficiency enabled to work with simpler and less expensive near infrared detectors.
